Cookies + Washi Tape
Cookies. I wanted to do something nice, and at the same time be in the flow. I would like to get lost in an activity. I have decided to bake chocolate chip cookies that my husband could bring to his colleagues this morning. That's it. I remember, it always cheers me up when someone comes to my desk in the office, offering chocolates, especially when a hot freshly brewed coffee is sitting peacefully beside the computer. Yesterday afternoon filled the kitchen with aroma of chocolate and cookie dough.
Before:
With all the posts of washi tape on Pinterest, it got me intrigued. So I went to Daiso Store and found some washi fabric tape. A Japanese value for money concept store filled with hard to find items that start with Dhs 6 less than $2.
After :
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Medium Sized Scoops- 80 cookies
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups white sugar
3/4 cups packed brown sugar
4 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup rolled oats
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Directions
1. Cream butter in a large bowl. Add both sugars and beat on medium for 2 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each condition. Add lemon juice and vanilla, mix well
2.In a separate bowl, stir together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture and stir well to blend. Add chips and nuts, stir until evenly distributed.
3. Drop 1 1/2 table spoon or a medium sized OXO Good grips cookie scoop on parchment lined baking pans 2 to 3 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 13-15 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges. Cool; remove paper and cool completely on wire racks.
The cookie yields to roughly around 2 3/4 inch diameter.
I'm now returning back to my easel.
Happy baking to you all!
