A Rail House Expansion

I happen to have a lot of time in my hands the past few days so I have been stalking Contemporist and found this innovative design of an expansion and remodeling of an old rail house in Sanpoort-Noord, Netherlands by  Zecc Architects .  


The minimalist mix of  simplified new and old materials coming together in a stylish yet functional scheme made me  post this here. 

I wish I could create more and more spaces one day that I could share in this blog. 
For now, I'm content to be inspired.

    I love the combo of old and new.

    And what a fantastic use of space.

    (What you do in your free time is usually a pretty good indication of where you can direct your passions full time.)

    More than anything - I love that staircase, is that an odd thing about the whole house to fall in love with? I don't know, I just love it!

    Hello Sherry, I'm recently in a phase of loving full glass panels and massive sliding glass doors. I like the idea of opening a space outdoors extending out to a garden.

    Hi Vanisha, same here. I was smitten by that white staircase. How it just stands out against the background yet so calm and inviting. It just makes me want to go upstairs. :)
