Grasscloth Wallpaper
Imagine your current bland wall with patches of gray on the corners because of your dirty cat brushing itself on it when he's feeling affectionate. (Ok, I'm referring to my cat and my wall).
Textures. If you want to quickly change the look of your entry hall, try adding an organic element and natural feel by installing Grasscloth wallpaper.
Grasscloths have natural horizontal pattern. Dyed or undyed. It's a natural material so it's eco-friendly. We could never get it perfect though. The beauty of it lies in the imperfection of the lines, natural shade difference and visible seams.

Preps for Installation
Seal the walls very well with primer. Prep coating is not enough. It's important to get an expert to install it though. It requires a lot of skill, special treatment and adhesive use.

Placement and Maintenance
Consider the maintenance of it afterwards as it could get easily scratched when placed in a high traffic area. It's also ideal if you place it behind a furniture where you don't get direct contact with it. I guess I'll have to steer it away from my cat or he'll use it as a scratching pad.

I particularly like this metallic grasscloth wallpaper from Crezana Designs . There are also printed grasscloths available to your liking. Check out patterns from Phillip Jeffries. Which one is your favorite, the natural ones, the dyed or the printed version? Happy Tuesday! |
