I have a design crush on Chinoiserie lately. I once featured stylish wallpaper from Fromental that best illustrates this design. Chinoiserie is a french term for Chinese-esque. A European artistic style reflecting Chinese design influences that started in the 17th Century. To know more about Chinoiserie click here.

It's the first weekend where the house is silent. After a week of laughter, baby cries and busy meals at the long dining table, and kids screaming running around with all that energy bouncing off the walls, I can't help missing the happy mess.
I'd like to share here one morning activity where my niece and nephew explored their creative side with Aquarelle.

Since January, when I started the De-cluttering Series, I've been simplifying things around the house. This includes the daily skin regimen. I usually feel naked without makeup. However, my aim is to focus more on simplifying what I apply on my face daily.
I'm currently looking forward to my in-laws' visit and one-week stay at home, I'll definitely be cooking up a storm all week. When I look at my current kitchen, the only colorful collection I could find are travel magnets on the fridge. I have a tea bag painting that I intend to hang up on the wall. When I saw this image, I knew I had to post this -A Bohemian themed artwork can spice up a dull modern kitchen counter.
It's in my list of places to visit: The Farm, a luxury eco-friendly restaurant tucked away within an oasis of greens and manicured lawns along Emirates Road in Dubai. It's located within the residential community of Al Barari. The tropical foliage against the desert landscape creates a cocoon around this hidden design gem.

The Farm is a project designed by Lesley Zaal, co-founder of Etcetera Living - one of my favorite Interior Designers based in Dubai. Etcetera Living also has a gorgeous furniture boutique along Jumeirah Beach Road.
You must think I've been living under the rock. It was only last night that I got to see 500 Days of Summer and I fell in love with it. The scenes are artistic and the interiors in this film just took my breath away.

It's a simple picture. I'm drawn by the entire composition.
The placement of each object evokes a feeling of balance and warmth.
The choice of objects to be placed mean something.
Texture and colors blending together. A mood is then created.
Have a great weekend!
