Sonya's Garden
Sonya's Garden is a popular wedding destination on the hills of Tagaytay, in the main island of the Philippines, two hours away from Manila. I have always wanted to visit this garden tucked away from the bustling main road. Tagaytay was also the venue of my wedding, because it was the first place my husband and I went to when we were still dating.
A tranquil haven with a restaurant offering organic produce, a spa, a country bakery and store and a romantic Bed and Breakfast all wrapped in a blanket of greens growing wildly in beautiful disarray.
Throughout the garden are benches and love seats, making it an ideal romantic spot of whispered sweet nothings and an ideal place to daydream while waiting.
The gateway to the bed and breakfast leads you to private and quiet cottages of capiz-shell louvered windows, typical of ancestral and colonial houses in the country. The airy bedroom suites are all naturally ventilated with antique solid wood furniture made of indigenous materials.
It's definitely a refuge for burned-out city folks and for those who have been residing overseas, who would like a charming treat of Philippine hospitality.
How to get there?
Do you think you would like to stay in a place like this for a weekend?
Have a great one!
XOXO,
Arni
