It's a simple picture. I'm drawn by the entire composition.
The placement of each object evokes a feeling of balance and warmth.
The choice of objects to be placed mean something.
Texture and colors blending together. A mood is then created.
Have a great weekend!

There are several decisions to be made when planning the dining space. Should it be private or open to the living area? How many seating is required? What happens when more guests arrive beyond the seating capacity? Should it be incorporated within a kitchen? Or should it be held separately on its own adjacent to it?
I happen to have a lot of time in my hands the past few days so I have been stalking Contemporist and found this innovative design of an expansion and remodeling of an old rail house in Sanpoort-Noord, Netherlands by Zecc Architects .
I wanted to create a mood board with the help of Olioboard for a sophisticated literary buff who loves to daydream about the characters in the fiction novels he or she reads. This is what came out of it. The Anise bench and velvet create a dramatic streak matched with dark floors.

Another food and interior design pairing. The mini carrot cake inside the box is an inspiration for carrot orange accents.
Did I satiate your design palate? Now it's time for me to much the carrot cake in the box.
Happy Wednesday!
I trust you're all having a wonderful Saturday. The bright sunny day outside my window prompts me to change into my swim wear and enjoy the nearby clubhouse pool. The heat decreased lately and in a few weeks, I will definitely be running to the pool. For now, while waiting for the weather to simmer, I'm going to post photos of my home as I have previously promised.
A dear friend, Lito Flestado of Captureffic photographed our humble abode's interior. Lito is the other half of Captureffic that specialize in event photo booths.
Moving back to the home interior, it was a fun decorating project I enjoyed doing last year when we decided to move in, in this neighborhood. It's a quiet family oriented community in the middle of the desert. Yes, typically a suburban lifestyle.

The three (3) black and white framed artwork are my travel photos. The left image is a view of Montmartre in Paris one summer afternoon. The central picture was taken at Salar del Uyuni in Bolivia at the foot of Vulcan Tunupa. The artwork on the right is the Christchurch Museum in New Zealand. I had these images printed at Portfolio. The frames are great purchases from IKEA.

Long behold my favorite white mirror from IKEA and I matched it with the country looking credenza from the same store.

Have a lovely Saturday!
"1. Buy a new dining room set." |
I got this dining room set from The One at Mall of the Emirates a few months back during the season sale. The comfy seating is perfect for entertaining. You could sit there for long conversations and could even squeeze additional two (2) chairs for extra guests because of the good table length.
By the way, this picture was taken at the time we just got the table so those covers were temporary.

This is how it looks like right now.....
How's your Sunday going? What I like about Sundays is, despite this being our first day of the week, it's a smooth transition to work since the rest of the world is still having their weekend.
I found these gorgeous dining ensemble. It's always a challenge to put the white chair and dark table together but this managed to pull it off effortlessly.

For those living in Dubai, we are fortunate to have these shops right here.
Have a great Sunday to you all!

I'd like to feature a stunning home design by my new design crush, architect, Charlie Simmons of Charlie & Co. Design. The contemporary areas of his Modern Shingle Style work are so serenely stylish!
Contemporary Living Area |
I've featured this bathroom before in one of my dreamy baths post.
A beautiful patio adds the final touch.
