Accents: Chinoiserie

I have a design crush on Chinoiserie lately. I once featured stylish wallpaper from Fromental that best illustrates this design. Chinoiserie is a french term for Chinese-esque. A European artistic style reflecting Chinese design influences that started in the 17th Century. To know more about Chinoiserie click here.

If you prefer a bold statement within a space, a Chinoiserie pattern on walls would be the best. Check out De Gournay  and Fromental  However, for subtlety, when you have solid colored walls and would merely like to liven up the mood and make a monotonous look more interesting, here are some ideas..
